what's wrong with parents these days
to me, what a dismay
to see them treat their children the way they do
treating them like a piece of shit
stuck to the sole of their shoe
just waiting for the day when their child leaves
trying to convince themselves
making themselves believe
that what they did was right
thinking everyone is blind at sight
i see it everyday
but what does the child do?
nothing
continues like it's part of the screenplay
believing what they are doing
will be worth something in the end
the only thing it's worth
is the gleam of power and pride
in the fathers eye
cut the kids some slack
fuck, let them live their childhood
have some fun, not have to scrub
the tile and wood
until you said they are good
they learn to hate
when the only thing they do
is wash your dirty plate
if they are old enough
to make their own mistakes
the chances they must take
no one ever learns
until they crash and burn
